Job Description
We are seeking a Senior RF Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and test L‑band RF and IF hardware for next generation satellite modems across the full product lifecycle. This role focuses on RF schematic and PCB design, component selection, signal integrity, and hands‑on board bring‑up and lab testing using RF instrumentation. The engineer will collaborate closely with RF, digital, firmware, and systems teams to deliver high performance SATCOM hardware in an onsite lab environment.
The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience designing L‑band RF and IF hardware for satellite or wireless systems.
- L‑band intermediate frequency design integrated on PCBs
- Schematic design and layout
- Component selection
- System bring‑up performance testing and optimization
- High‑speed PCB trace signal integrity simulation and analysis
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively work and communicate with team members and engineering management
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related degree
- 5+ years of experience in radio frequency
- Experience with noise figure, phase noise and harmonics design/testing/simulation
- Experience with amplifiers, switches, local oscillators, filters, impedance matching, ADC, DAC interfaces, RF modulation and demodulation
- Experience with RF front‑end gain analysis
- RF circuit simulation tools (Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR/Virtuoso, HFSS, Ansys, LTSpice/PSpice)
- Hands‑on experience in the lab—implement and test on the bench—understanding the architecture and design trade‑offs impacting wireless communications, such as noise figure, phase noise, spurious, harmonics, flatness, and adjacent‑channel interference
- Strong L‑band design experience; higher frequencies desirable
- Experience with amplifiers, local oscillators, filters, impedance matching, ADC, DAC interfaces, and quadrature and direct RF modulation and demodulation
- RF schematic and layout
- RF circuit simulation tools and PCB trace signal integrity modeling (ADS, Genesys, Spice, etc.)
- Use of laboratory measurement tools (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, vector network analyzer, source signal analyzer, etc.)
- RF board bring‑up and debugging
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi‑disciplinary, cross‑functional, and matrixed teams
