FinOps Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Specialty Software Engineer 4 - Contingent to join their team. As a Specialty Software Engineer 4 - Contingent, you will be part of the Specialty Software Engineering department supporting complex initiatives and large-scale planning. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations by understanding policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate strategically with client personnel to ensure project success.
• Support the establishment of a new Fin Ops function, working closely with finance and infrastructure teams to optimize cloud and on-premises costs.

What's Needed?

• 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military experience, or education.
• Experience with cloud cost management, billing models, and optimization, especially with Azure and GCP.
• Proven ability to manage and optimize hybrid infrastructure costs.
• Strong automation skills, including scripting in Python, Power Shell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with AI-assisted Fin Ops automation, anomaly detection, and cost insight generation.
