Project Engineer Intern - Heavy Civil

As a DCS Intern, you can expect to gain heavy civil construction experience by working closely with project management team members on a variety of key tasks, such as:

• Assist the project management team and provide technical support
• Responsible for reviewing timesheets, cost reporting, and submittals
• Gain knowledge on the company’s self-performing trades; concrete, wet utilities, and grading
• Assist project team in material and equipment procurement, planning and scheduling of activities
• Attend and participate in job coordination meetings
• Attend and participate in owner project meetings
• Develop firm understanding of project scope of work and contract document
• Develop your understanding of construction safety

Our Interns split their time between jobsites and the main office. Our jobsites are located in the Phoenix valley area.

• Currently enrolled freshman, sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• High interest and eager to learn more about the construction industry
• Not afraid to dive right in and ask questions
• Supportive, team player with the mentality to do what is best for the success of the company and team members
• Ability to work 40 hours Monday – Friday during the summer internship session
