Requirements
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
The CAD Planner I supports the planning, layout development, documentation, and space utilization efforts for semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, and technology facility projects. This position works closely with Industrial Engineers, Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, Clients, and Construction Teams to develop accurate facility layouts, equipment plans, utility coordination drawings, and as-built documentation that support operational and project objectives.
The CAD Planner I participates in multiple phases of project development, including site verification, facility planning, layout development, field documentation, as-built generation, and project closeout activities. This role requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate information across multiple disciplines to deliver accurate and constructible design solutions. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain facility layouts, equipment plans, tool installation drawings, utility coordination plans, floor plans, and as-built documentation for semiconductor, manufacturing, industrial, and technology facilities.
- Support Industrial Engineers, Project Managers, and Design Teams by providing technical drafting and planning assistance throughout project development and execution.
- Perform field investigations, site verification activities, and facility assessments to collect existing conditions and support accurate project documentation.
- Generate and maintain detailed as-built drawings by incorporating field redlines, facility modifications, and construction changes into project documentation.
- Assist in the planning and layout of manufacturing tools, production equipment, process support systems, utility infrastructure, and facility improvements.
- Coordinate project information between engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, process piping, civil, structural, and process engineering teams.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and facility standards to ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and coordinated.
- Create, maintain, and organize CAD standards, drawing templates, blocks, libraries, and project documentation systems.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, facility planning discussions, and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Assist with identifying design conflicts, space constraints, and constructability concerns while proposing practical solutions to support project objectives.
- Coordinate revisions and gather information from multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely updates to project documents.
- Support quality assurance and quality control efforts by reviewing drawings for consistency, completeness, and compliance with client and KAEKO standards.
- Assist in evaluating opportunities for process improvements, space optimization, facility efficiency, and value engineering initiatives.
- Communicate project status, technical concerns, and documentation requirements with project leadership and team members.
- Maintain project documentation and records in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the organization.
- 1-3 years of experience in CAD drafting, facility planning, industrial design support, manufacturing environments, or related technical disciplines.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks, BIM platforms, or facility planning software is preferred.
- Understanding of facility planning, space management, manufacturing operations, and industrial facility layouts.
- Knowledge of drafting standards, drawing management practices, and construction documentation processes.
- Familiarity with semiconductor, manufacturing, industrial, or technology facility environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, facility layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
