Overview
Manufacturing Engineers in Edwards support identification, development, and execution of a portfolio of engineering projects to ensure the four Service Technology Centres (STC) in Region Americas are optimised through application of lean engineering principles. The construction of a 200,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art STC in Chandler, Arizona is underway, and Manufacturing Engineers play a central role in executing this project, supporting facility fit-out, commissioning, and subsequent operations support and optimisation.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and execution of a range of projects from focused Kaizen efforts to multiple million USD value strategic projects.
- Identify project opportunities through application of own expertise and tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Time Study, and Capacity Models.
- Gather input on project opportunities through engagement with local teams (operations, safety, quality) and global teams (NPI, Innovation, Operational Excellence).
- Develop concepts, produce designs, obtain quotes, produce project schedules, and perform safety assessments.
- Engage with suppliers and contractors to safely deliver project deliverables on schedule and within budget.
- Provide continuous engineering support to site operations; conduct site walkthroughs and support problem-solving activities.
- Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
- High level of customer focus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of high-accuracy mechanical system design and manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality tools (e.g., Kaizen, Time-Study, VSM, PFMEA, Problem Solving Tools) and safety management tools (risk assessment, permit to work).
- Proficient in the use of engineering and productivity tools e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Office 365.
