We are looking for a highly engaged and self‑motivated hardware engineer with CPU architecture/design background, strong interpersonal skills, and a drive for continuous learning. As a member of our Applications Engineering team, you will enable the success of the world's leading semiconductor and technology companies that are implementing the full range of Arm IP in a wide variety of products. Develop positive relationships by working directly with customers, and by providing feedback for product enhancements back into the design cycle.
This role requires physical presence in Chandler, AZ, but with a very flexible hybrid work policy. Relocation accommodations are available. Collaboration with other multidisciplinary teams in the US and around the world is routine; the ability to thrive while working remotely is a must.
Key Responsibilities- Build targeted test benches and debug simulation waveforms to reproduce and root‑cause customer issues down to the RTL level.
- Develop and lead customer training sessions and design reviews, and gain first‑hand exposure to the technical challenges they face.
- Improve internal and customer workflows by contributing to documentation and authoring knowledge base articles.
- Advocate for customers internally to help drive prioritization and resolution of issues.
- Bachelor’s (BS or equivalent experience) or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Interest in and solid understanding of CPU architecture.
- Strong RTL and simulation debugging skills using EDA tools (Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel and visit other Arm and customer sites (approximately 10%).
- Experience with issue root cause analysis and resolution.
- Knowledge of non‑CPU components such as interconnects and memory subsystems.
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (C, Assembly, Perl, Python).
Our hybrid approach allows you to split time between the office and other locations to get work done. Flexibility is tailored to the role and team, and local legal or regulatory considerations are taken into account.
Salary Range$130,100 - $176,000 per year.
