Student Intern – Engineering Department
The role is a temporary summer internship beginning in June 2025 at the Springerville Generating Station. Students will support engineering and non‑engineering staff on existing projects, gaining hands‑on experience in the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities- Review and submit engineering documents to aid project completion.
- Ensure proper labeling of plant equipment per TEP standard, focusing on systems involved in clearance procedures.
- Create system drawing packages for established processes to expedite troubleshooting (e.g., MCCs, standalone equipment, specific plant systems).
- Compare field equipment with engineering drawings to verify correctness.
- Assist the engineering group with routine problem solving using fundamental mathematics and physics principles.
- Strong work ethic and personal initiative.
- Excellent organizational and task management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical).
- Anticipated graduation date in 2027 or 2028.
- Maintain required hours for full‑time student status and good academic standing.
- Availability for the summer break starting in June 2025.
- Scheduling assignments will be made on a department‑by‑department basis.
