International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a dynamic technical leader to oversee and expand our services around PFASs Forensics. Our services provide clients in aviation, industrial, municipal, and federal markets. The role leads business development opportunities in collaboration with project managers, technical experts, R&D, and marketing.

• Ph.D. in PFASs Application Forensics
• Over 5 years of experience with concentrated focus on PFAS Forensics
• Expertise with high-resolution mass spectrometry (Orbitrap / QTOF)
• Use of the NIST database
• Detailed understanding of PFASs chemistry, uses, manufacturing, fate transport and precursor transformation
• Experience with analytical methods: CIC, TOP, NMR, etc.
• Sample preparation protocols and inherent biases (matrix effects and PFASs extraction inefficiencies)
  • Record of publications
  • Conference presentations
  • Scientific communication
• Travel 20% – 40%

• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Active membership in a related professional organization.
• Existing, strong relationships with aviation, industrial, municipal, federal clients.
• Advanced understanding of PFAS chemistry.
• Ph.D. in PFASs Application Forensics.

Solid knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand complex technical, professional and business materials.
