CAD CAM Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Engineer CAD CAM in Chandler, AZ for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This on-site role supports the Mechanical and Energetics department by creating drawing and design packages with proper content and ensuring compliance with applicable industry and military standards. The position includes design review, 3D modeling, parametric drawing creation, and coordination with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendors.

Required Skills

• Experience creating and reviewing mechanical drawings
• Experience checking dimensions, materials, quantities, and completed work
• Experience with mechanical modeling using Siemens NX 2412 managed with Teamcenter
• Experience creating and revising parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication
• Experience reviewing tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints
• Ability to verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, and NX 2412
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under schedule pressure
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to exhibit patience while working through detailed design requirements

What You’ll Do

• Create drawing and design packages with proper content and compliance with applicable industry and military standards
• Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication
• Review tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints
• Resolve interpretation issues on drawings
• Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX 2412 managed with Teamcenter
• Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently
• Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality
• Serve as a liaison with vendors as needed
• Create and review mechanical drawings with appropriate personnel
• As requested, supervise and direct staff activities
• Perform related duties as assigned or required
