CAD CAM Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking CAD CAM Engineers in Chandler, AZ for a contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. There are 5 openings for this on-site position supporting the Mechanical and Energetics department. The role creates drawing and design packages, reviews mechanical designs, verifies 3D models, and supports engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendor coordination.

Required Skills

• Experience creating and reviewing mechanical drawings

• Experience verifying completed work, checking dimensions, materials, and quantities

• Experience with mechanical modeling using Siemens NX 2412 managed with Teamcenter

• Experience creating and revising parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards

• Basic knowledge of GD&T and application

• Ability to review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication under supervision of a Sr CAD Designer

• Experience reviewing tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints

• Ability to verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing

• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, and NX 1946

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work quickly and accurately under schedule pressure

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to exhibit patience while working through detailed design requirements

What You’ll Do

• Create drawing and design packages with proper content and compliance with applicable industry and military standards

• Review mechanical designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication

• Review tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints

• Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX 2412 managed with Teamcenter

• Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently

• Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards

• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality

• Serve as a vendor liaison as needed

• Create and review mechanical drawings with appropriate personnel

• Perform related duties as assigned or required
