PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Mass Properties Engineer in Chandler, AZ for a one-year contract role supporting Northrop Grumman.
The Mass Properties Engineer will support launch vehicle and subsystem programs by developing mass properties models, performing weight and balance analysis, tracking design target weights, and supporting program reviews. This onsite role requires a STEM degree, basic CAD knowledge, strong attention to detail, and an active U.S. Secret clearance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance required.
- 0–5 years of engineering experience.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Basic CAD understanding and usage.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to gather information from cross-functional teams.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support mass properties modeling, tracking, and analysis.
- Ability to work onsite in Chandler, AZ.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mass properties in a school or work project.
- Understanding of mass, weight, center of gravity, moments of inertia, products of inertia, and factors that cause mass properties to change.
- Experience programming in Access VBA or Excel macros.
- Ability to complete projects on time with minimal oversight.
- Experience supporting aerospace, launch vehicle, mechanical engineering, or vehicle analysis programs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain mass properties models for launch vehicles and subsystems.
- Perform weight and balance analysis for launch systems.
- Estimate and optimize mass properties.
- Establish design target weights and track compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain mass properties accounting systems.
- Provide trend analysis for program leadership.
- Support proposal evaluations, design reviews, and operational documentation.
- Conduct component weighing and verification to improve estimate accuracy.
- Present findings in technical and program reviews.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather data and communicate status.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9x80 A schedule.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Onsite role.
Pay
- $48.51/hour
