Overview

Qorvo US Inc., has a position in Chandler, Arizona. Design Engineer 2 focused on multi-chip modules (MCM) and microwave/RF front-end circuit design, including PA or LNA design details (DC bias, Bias Tee, stability, impedance matching) and RF testing.

Responsibilities
  • Module-level design, modeling, and integration of PAs, LNAs, switches, and filters into highly compact multi-chip modules (MCMs) and FEMs.
  • Design and analyze microwave/rf front-end circuitry (PA/LNA) including DC biasing, Bias Tee, stability, impedance matching, and RF testing.
  • Integrate module dies (e.g., amplifiers, switches, attenuators) in single or multichip air-cavity or over-mold transmit/receive RF front-end modules.
  • Use RF CAD tools (ADS and/or Cadence Simulation and Layout) and EM simulators (ADS Momentum, ADS FEM, and/or Ansys HFSS) with circuit simulators to predict overall circuit performance.
  • Perform electromagnetic (EM) simulation to develop laminate-based modules and support full module simulation.
  • Collaborate with design, modeling, and process engineering teams to generate, implement, and support nonlinear and linear models.
  • Characterize, verify, and debug designs through lab measurements and data analysis with tools such as Spotfire and Excel.
  • Design III-V microwave/millimeter-wave MMICs, including amplifiers, switches, phase shifters, attenuators, time-delay units (TDUs), hybrid multichip modules, or transmit/receive front-end modules (FEMs).
  • Support products through life cycles from concept/feasibility through development, qualification, and production.
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with coursework in Radio Frequency focus, and 3 years of work experience.
  • Additionally, 1 year of experience involving knowledge or understanding of: (1) microwave/RF front-end circuit design (PA/LNA details: DC bias, Bias Tee, stability, impedance matching) and RF testing; (2) integrating module dies into single or multichip FEMs; (3) RF CAD tools (ADS and/or Cadence) and EM simulators (ADS Momentum, ADS FEM, Ansys HFSS) with circuit simulators; (4) EM simulation tools for laminate-based modules and (5) full module simulation.
  • ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with coursework in Radio Frequency focus and 1 year of work experience or 9 graduate credit hours to involve knowledge or understanding of: (1) microwave/RF front-end circuit design and RF testing; (2) integrating module dies; (3) RF CAD tools and EM simulators; (4) EM simulation tools for laminate-based modules;

    (5) full module simulation.
