Engineering Design Checker
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Engineering Design Checker in Chandler, AZ for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Engineering Design Checker will review mechanical drawing and design packages for proper content, manufacturability, fit, function, tolerance accuracy, and compliance with applicable industry and military standards. This onsite role requires strong GD&T expertise, Siemens NX/CATIA or other 3D CAD experience, drawing package review experience, and the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendor teams.
Required Skills- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience using Siemens NX, CATIA, or other applicable 3D CAD systems.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience.
- Recognized expertise in GD&T and the ability to resolve drawing interpretation issues.
- Experience checking drawing and design packages for proper content and standards compliance.
- Ability to check designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication.
- Experience reviewing tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints.
- Experience verifying 3D models submitted to manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, NX, and Teamcenter.
- Ability to create or revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under schedule pressure.
- Ability to work onsite in Chandler, AZ.
- Siemens NX experience managed with Teamcenter.
- Experience creating fully defined 3D components and assemblies.
- Experience supporting mechanical, energetics, aerospace, defense, launch vehicle, or high-reliability manufacturing programs.
- Experience liaising with engineering, manufacturing, quality, or vendors.
- Experience supervising or directing design/drafting staff.
- Strong understanding of ASME modeling and drawing standards.
- Check mechanical drawing and design packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Review drawings for dimensions, materials, quantities, fit, function, manufacturability, and fabrication economy.
- Review tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints.
- Resolve GD&T interpretation issues on drawings.
- Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using NX and Teamcenter.
- Model fully defined components and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, manufacturing, quality, and vendors.
- Support drawing/design package reviews and related technical documentation.
- Perform related design checking and drafting support duties as assigned.
- 9x80 A schedule.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Onsite role.
- $62.18/hour
