Facilities Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to support a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing site in Chandler, AZ. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical electrical infrastructure that supports manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced, high-uptime environment, ideal for someone with experience supporting industrial or mission-critical facilities.
Responsibilities- Design, operate, and maintain electrical distribution systems including switch gear, transformers, UPS systems, and generators
- Ensure consistent and reliable power delivery to critical manufacturing equipment
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical system issues and implement corrective actions
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Plan and support electrical system upgrades, expansions, and capital projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
- Support equipment with strict power quality and uptime requirements
- Monitor and analyze system performance using SCADA, BMS, or EMS tools
- Participate in on-call rotations and support emergency response efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3–8+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities engineering environments
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems
- Experience with substations, UPS systems, generators, and power quality
- Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
- Experience working in semiconductor or cleanroom environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward certification
- Experience in mission-critical or high-availability environments
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), SCADA, or energy management systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in high-uptime, production-critical environments
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Project coordination or project management experience
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety
- Semiconductor manufacturing facility (cleanroom and utility areas)
- Use of PPE required
- Exposure to high-voltage systems
- Participation in on-call and off-hours support as needed
