The Mechanical Engineering group is hiring for an Engineer Aeronautical - Level 4 professional at our Chandler, AZ location.
Essential Functions- Based on specific stated objectives, performs analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of company products. Uses advanced structural and product design engineering software tools. Solid knowledge of GD&T principles and application to designs.
- With minimal guidance, studies basic design concepts and criteria for complex materials, components, or functional systems. Applies engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature.
- Makes an extra effort to provide quality customer service. Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs.
- Demonstrates a willingness to seek creative, new and different ways to accomplish outcomes.
- Performs complex engineering design, development, analysis, and/or test activities to support assigned projects.
- Develops test programs as needed to evaluate system elements, such as materials, structural components, etc.
- Manages test activities and test article fabrication, including documentation of results.
- Determines engineering tasks required for project planning and execution.
- Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
- Performs research for related engineering projects.
- Represents the organization as a contact on projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience; or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Active US DoD Secret Security clearance, or higher at the time of application.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering.
- Active US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge in carbon composites.
- NX or other CAD experience.
- GD&T training i.
- Ability to present technical content to peers and project groups.
- Familiarity with Matlab, Python, Linux.
Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
