  • Monitor building systems through monitoring-based commissioning and fault detection and diagnostics software
  • Identify operational faults in HVAC and building automation systems
  • Diagnose root causes using trend and historian data
  • Serve as primary client contact and communicate findings and corrective actions
  • Build relationships with facility and engineering staff at healthcare and education clients
  • Analyze, develop, evaluate, improve, and maintain systems and projects
  • Collect, organize, and analyze utility consumption data and rates
  • Research utility rate changes, deregulated energy cost trends, rebates, and incentive programs
  • Conduct EPA Energy Star and other energy benchmarks
  • Review utility invoices, resolve errors, and create utility budgets
  • Perform energy audits using field surveys and utility data
  • Identify energy- and cost-reduction improvements and develop technical reports
  • Develop and implement IPMVP-adherent measurement and verification plans
  • Develop energy baselines and adjustments using regression analysis
  • Coordinate M&V plans with clients, utilities, analysts, engineers, construction managers, and commissioning agents
  • Review metering design documents, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Verify facility utility performance and validate savings
  • Create, maintain, and distribute M&V dashboards and reports
  • Evaluate energy, weather, and building automation data to identify operational issues
  • Develop recommendations and prepare stakeholder reports
  • Develop engineering-based energy models for existing and proposed building operations
  • Perform life-cycle cost and engineering economic analyses
  • Document engineering calculations and methodologies
  • Mentor and train energy staff
  • Manage day-to-day activities of subordinate energy personnel when assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
  • Experience with energy savings projects
  • Experience with life-cycle cost analyses
  • Experience analyzing utility data
  • At least one of: CEM, CMVP, CEP, CEA, EEP, or BEP certification through the Association of Energy Engineers or equivalent
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle complex issues
  • Comprehensive subject‑matter knowledge
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical, computer, and technical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Ability to climb stairs and remain stationary, kneel, stand, or sit for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
