Position: General Engineer with Security Clearance
Duties This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. As a General Engineer at the NH-0801-3 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
* Ensures lessons learned are implemented at the field to prevent repetitive mistakes and escapes within MDA components and systems. Provides technical engineering guidance to other MDA Program Offices regarding the planning and implementation of program matters.
* Represents MDA/QS on field visits to services, Program Offices and private companies to assist in the planning, development and implementation of the Quality, Mission Assurance, and Assurance Integration programs and processes.
* Provides technical engineering guidance on issues affecting program quality, mission assurance, and assurance integration and ensures that functions and operations are performed uniformly, economically and in accordance with MDA policies and procedures.
* The physical demands of the work require considerable and strenuous physical exertion, such as traverse (up and down) ladders, occasional moderate/heavy lifting, must not have abnormal anxiety to temporarily work in confined spaces, and walking/standing for long periods of time. The work requires specific physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity. The work environment involves risks with a variety of potentially dangerous situations that require safety precautions that must be followed.

Must be able to work around chemicals, solvents, dust and particulates that may be encountered inside/outside any of these manufacturing test facilities without the need of a respirator. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
* Employee must obtain/maintain Non-Critical Sensitive/Secret security clearance.
* This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 60 months of entry into position.
* Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months Qualifications You may qualify at the NH
-03 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified:
* Experience with manufacturing/testing complex mechanical or electrical aerospace assemblies.
* Experience with auditing processes associated with the manufacturing/testing of complex mechanical or electrical aerospace assemblies.
* Experience implementing Quality, Safety, or Mission Assurance practices within defense, aerospace, or space systems

A. Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships);

(c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR

B.Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
