The Fiscal Analyst serves as the subject matter expert and liaison for Travel and Accounts Payable transactions in the Financial Management System (FMS) and also supports the functions of contracts/agreements and procurement cards.
The analyst works independently, utilizing judgment to apply standard fiscal operation techniques, procedures, and criteria to evaluate and analyze issues, resolve problems, ensure compliance with administrative regulations, and review and approve FMS transactions. The position requires high attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of fiscal regulations, policies, and processes.
Essential Functions
30% - Serves as the subject matter expert and primary fiscal approver for professional growth, department-funded, and athletic travel authorizations and expense reports; applies established policies, procedures and regulations; responds to inquiries and requests and provides technical and analytical support
25% - Serves as college subject matter expert for Accounts Payable transactions; helps resolve invoice/voucher discrepancies; approves vouchers for Payment Requests, capital projects, and future year invoices; monitors Purchase Order activity (to include spending, online receiving, and invoicing); tracks payments to suppliers upon request; submits year-end accruals to Accounts Payable; serves as the liaison for District Accounts Payable and Supplier Management functions
25% - Performs complex research and analysis by running queries to extract and then analyze data using advanced spreadsheet functionality; prepares reports and documents; prepares and submits financial entries, such as journals and expense corrections, with appropriate documentation; plans and conducts one-on-one and group training for stakeholders and makes presentations on a variety of fiscal topics, including spreadsheet functionality, running queries, Accounts Payable processes, financial transactions, and Purchase Order Inquiry;
