The Role
The Executive Assistant to the CFO serves as a trusted right-hand partner to our Chief Financial Officer. This is a fast-paced, high-responsibility role for someone who thrives under pressure, manages a significant workload, and takes ownership without needing constant direction.
You will help protect the CFO’s time, anticipate priorities, coordinate across departments, and keep key responsibilities, meetings, and projects moving forward. We are looking for someone confident enough to speak up, make decisions within their scope, ask the right questions, and take charge when needed.
This is more than a traditional administrative position. You will work closely with the CFO and leaders across Barrett and become an important partner in helping the Finance function and broader organization operate effectively.
- Manage the CFO’s calendar, meetings, appointments, priorities, and day-to-day schedule
- Serve as a primary point of contact between the CFO and internal and external departments
- Anticipate scheduling conflicts, competing priorities, deadlines, and follow-up needs
- Protect the CFO’s time by helping prioritize meetings, requests, and commitments
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, organize materials, and track follow-up items
- Keep projects, deliverables, and action items moving forward across multiple departments
- Follow up with leaders and team members on outstanding items, deadlines, and commitments
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, meeting materials, and other business documents
- Organize and maintain confidential records, files, and sensitive business information
- Assist with special projects and business initiatives led by the CFO
- Communicate professionally and confidently with leaders and team members at all levels of the organization
- Identify problems early and take initiative to help resolve them
- Help create structure and organization around competing priorities and a high volume of information
- Handle confidential financial, personnel, and business information with discretion
- Adapt quickly as priorities shift and new business needs arise
- Previous experience supporting an executive, senior leader, or high-level business function
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Confidence working directly with senior leaders and executives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
- A proactive approach to identifying needs, solving problems, and following through
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and providing appropriate pushback when needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to remain organized and composed when priorities change
- Professional, outgoing, and comfortable building relationships across departments
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Eagerness to learn, grow, accept feedback, and take on increasing responsibility
- A fun, supportive team that believes in collaboration and celebrating wins
- Leadership that values your voice, ideas, and career growth
- Opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact as Barrett continues to expand
- A culture that balances professionalism with personality where we work hard and have fun doing it
