Role Overview This role involves designing and delivering infrastructure tools and services that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance and policies. As part of a platform engineering team, the focus is on building and evolving a self-service AWS platform. This platform allows internal technology teams to deploy and operate services securely and efficiently in a regulated financial environment, with a continuous focus on improving reliability, security, and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in translating business and platform requirements into technical definitions, reference architectures, Terraform modules, and reusable platform patterns.
* Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to provision AWS services in a scalable, consistent, and compliant manner.
* Contribute to the development of a self-service AWS platform, creating standardized "golden paths" and templates.
* Develop and maintain automation and CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions, including validation, security scanning, and controlled deployments.
* Embed security-by-design principles into platform services, implementing IAM best practices, encryption standards, and secure network architectures.
* Develop software and automation solutions to eliminate manual processes and improve platform usability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and application teams to ensure solutions integrate effectively with the platform.
* Contribute to building event-driven and serverless platform components using AWS services to improve scalability and responsiveness.

Required Qualifications
*
* Education:

** A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
*
* Experience:

** A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer is required, with a background in enterprise-scale environments building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions.
** Technical

Skills:

*** Significant experience writing Hashicorp Terraform configurations and modules, including experience with Terraform Enterprise (TFE).
* Experience in Dev Ops and Git Ops models with infra-as-code and config-as-code.
* Strong knowledge of AWS and the cloud adoption framework.
* Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, including subnets, routing, load balancing, and firewalls.
* Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash or Python.
* Experience with container-related technologies and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
* Familiarity with cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in the financial services industry.
* Experience with various public cloud service providers.
* Experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
* Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Open Shift, or Docker.
