Responsibilities- First point of contact for user requests and service failure incidents – perform initial investigations and mitigate impacts through routine processes.
- Respond to user requests, monitor dashboards, tools, and reports to proactively identify and address potential production issues.
- Implement environment routing and cycling, splash pages, and user‑, including provisioning and deprovisioning for applications.
- Create status updates and technical detail for awareness communications regarding infrastructure, application, and client impact, then schedule follow‑up meetings.
- Partner with change and release teams to support implementations, proactively identify potential issues from changes, and track incidents and requests in the defined system.
- Maintain operational procedures, provide audit‑compliant documentation, and keep all documentation up‑to‑date.
- Coordinate weekly mainframe maintenance windows within established SLAs, review changes with BMC Remedy, and execute procedures reliably.
- Escalate issues that risk SLA, document improvements, and communicate process improvements across differing audiences.
- Track and resolve incidents quickly, including multi‑technology change windows, and lead or facilitate meetings to discuss risks and impacts.
- Must be able to work weekdays and a rotating weekend/night schedule (includes Saturdays and Sundays).
- Strong working knowledge of >5 years with mainframe technology infrastructure on z/OS, including transaction, queuing, database, and batch systems.
- Proficient with mainframe tools such as TSO, JCL, JES2, SDSF, Console, and BMC Remedy.
- Experience vetting disruptive change requests, understanding infrastructure and business applications, and minimizing service disruption.
- Strong organization, attention‑to‑detail, project management, and ability to multi‑task during coordinated change windows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and convey ideas to management.
- Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including operator procedures and detailed scripts.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with experience supervising junior staff or leading project teams.
- Minimum 2 years of console operations experience, including knowledge of JES2 and MVS commands.
- Understanding of the sensitive nature of data processing and service level agreements.
- Knowledge of mainframe tools such as ITSM, APVIEW, HMC, Microsoft Office 365, Matter Most, Python, NETVIEW, and SA z/OS.
- Experience with HMC, IPL, and POR procedures is a plus.
- Ability to escalates issues to support teams or upper management as required.
- ITIL certification is an advantage.
- Strategic thinker who anticipates business needs and explores modernizing and automating opportunities.
Shift: 1st shift (United States of America). Hours per week: 40.
