Mainframe Production Operations Specialist II

• Monitor and support application components and infrastructure critical to the business, respond to production incident alerts, and resolve issues to prevent customer impact.
• Fulfill requests from users, operations, auditors, and regulators within service level agreements; drive operational excellence through process improvement and monitoring development for supported technologies.
• Onboard monitoring tools and applications to research potential production incidents, meet user requirements, implement automation opportunities with architects and engineers.
• Communicate status updates and technical details (infrastructure, application, client impact, failure points) to management; provide environment and incident status reporting in operational meetings.
• Perform environment routing and cycling, implement splash pages, and collaborate with development teams to design/configure auto provisioning, STR, and STP.
• Manage aged revocation monitoring to identify and fix defects in applications and systems of record.
• Prepare technical documentation and procedures for troubleshooting incidents to identify production failure scenarios, vulnerabilities, and improvement opportunities requiring escalations.
• Participate in planning, development, and implementation of infrastructure solutions with cross-functional experts to meet deployment requirements aligned with playbooks and blueprints; act as a technology domain SME for diverse audiences (technical, managerial, vendors).
• Lead resolution processes for problems where analysis of data requires evaluating multiple factors; exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to obtain results.
• Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and subsystem design integration.

• 5 or more years of console operations experience in a large-scale multi-platform data center.
• Expert operator-level knowledge of JES2 and MVS command sets; ability to navigate and provide operator-level control over CICS.
• Working knowledge of mainframe tools such as MAINVIEW, Omegamon, Tivoli, SA/Zos, CAO, OPS/MVS, TMON, NETVIEW, TBSM, HMC; VTAM/SNA, IPL and POR procedures.
• Experience performing SYSMOD activities (IPL, automation); ITIL certifications and ITSM knowledge are a plus.
• Ability to train colleagues or lead subordinates; proven self-motivation to participate in projects improving service delivery and reducing cost.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to convey ideas across management levels.
• Experience in financial firms performing similar duties is highly desirable.

• Shift-related: 3rd shift in the United States;
  Hours per week: 40.

3:30 PM - 2:30 AM (MST), 4 days a week (Wednesday through Saturday); on-call rotation and some holidays.
