Mainframe DBDBA; USS and RACF -BACJP

Insight Global is seeking a Mainframe DB2 DBA with USS and RACF expertise for a top financial services client. This individual will be responsible for managing DB2 databases across their full lifecycle while also supporting Unix System Services environments and securing them through RACF. The role requires strong technical depth in DB2, SMF analytics, and scripting, along with the ability to contribute to enterprise-wide database initiatives.

• Manage full lifecycle of DB2 mainframe databases (analysis through decommission)
• Install and support applications within Unix System Services (USS)
• Configure and manage RACF security for USS environments
• Perform SMF data extraction and analysis for DB2 performance insights
• Develop and maintain REXX and Python scripts
• Build and maintain Splunk monitoring solutions
• Support DB2‑related initiatives and enhancements on z/OS
• Collaborate across teams for performance tuning and system improvements

• Experience installing and managing products within Unix System Services (USS) on mainframe
• Strong knowledge of RACF security for USS
• 5+ years of DB2 (z/OS) database experience
• Strong expertise in SMF data analysis and extraction
• Experience with REXX programming
• Working knowledge of Splunk
• Working knowledge of Python programming
• Experience with full lifecycle DB2 database management

• Experience with application development in DB2 environments
• Knowledge of DB2 replication
• Broader database administration skills (DB2 on mainframe)
