We are seeking a Software Engineer (Mainframe) to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise mainframe systems and applications. This individual will work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of critical business systems running in a mainframe environment.
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications and system solutions.
- Troubleshoot system, application, and performance issues in production environments.
- Support core mainframe technologies, databases, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
- Create and maintain automation, scripts, and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system enhancements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security while implementing continuous improvements.
- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and change management activities.
- Maintain technical documentation and support established engineering standards and best practices.
- Experience supporting, developing, or administering applications in a mainframe environment.
- Knowledge of mainframe operating systems, databases, storage, networking, or infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with programming, scripting, automation, or systems support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale or highly available production environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with IBM z/OS environments.
- Familiarity with DB2, JCL, SQL, REXX, or other mainframe technologies.
- Knowledge of mainframe security, monitoring, performance tuning, or automation tools.
- Experience supporting modernization and continuous improvement initiatives within enterprise technology environments.
