MongoDB DBA Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• MongoDB Administration:
  Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB databases across Dev/Test/Prod environments.
• Monitor MongoDB performance, replication, and availability.
• Perform regular backups and restore operations (logical and physical) and validate recovery procedures.
• Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, and role‑based access.
• Troubleshoot MongoDB issues related to performance, connectivity, replication, and storage.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimize schema design and queries.
• MySQL Administration:
  Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases.
• Execute database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures (including backups in MySQL and Viva Learning).
• Monitor MySQL performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform database tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Manage users, privileges, and data security.
• Handle upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Backup, restore, and DR management.
• Design and maintain backup strategies for MongoDB and MySQL.
• Conduct regular restore testing to ensure data recoverability.
• Maintain documentation for backup, restore, and DR processes.
• Support audits and compliance requirements related to data protection.
• Monitoring support:
  Monitor database health and proactively address issues.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Provide on‑call or production support as required.
• Maintain operational documentation and SOPs.

• 5 years of experience in MongoDB and/or MySQL database administration.
• Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production databases.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

• Experience with cloud‑managed databases (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, AWS RDS).
• Exposure to high‑availability replication and disaster recovery setups.
• Knowledge of compliance and security best practices.

• Database Administration, Production Support.
• Suitable for DBA, APSE, CTI, Platform Support aligned roles.
