Base Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors and this range represents an estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Base salary is only one part of our compensation package for this role. You may also be eligible for company stock and annual bonus. What We’re Looking For

Iridium is seeking a talented and motivated entry‑level Support Engineer I to join Iridium in support of a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Support Engineer I, you’ll contribute to maintaining and supporting satellite ground entry point infrastructure that enables reliable communications across Iridium’s global network. In this role, you will focus primarily on‑site maintenance activities, equipment troubleshooting, antenna upkeep, and system‑level checks while working alongside experienced engineers.

You will thrive in this role if you enjoy hands‑on technical work, are eager to learn new technologies, and are motivated to build a career in the aerospace and telecommunications industry.

This position requires an active/current Top‑Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top‑Secret Security Clearance (a U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

What You’ll Do
  • Support maintenance activities for satellite ground entry points (GEPs) and gateway systems to help ensure reliable network operations
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, equipment, and communications issues under the guidance of experienced engineers
  • Participate in routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and operational checks of antennas and supporting infrastructure
  • Help identify and document equipment issues, anomalies, and maintenance activities
  • Conduct system‑level checks and basic testing procedures to verify operational performance
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to support site availability and reliability objectives
  • Investigate and help resolve routine technical issues following established procedures and documentation
  • Support the installation, replacement, and maintenance of communications equipment and associated hardware
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on maintenance processes and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and site documentation
