The City of Chandler Information Technology Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an
IT Programmer Senior Analyst
. This is a regular full-time, exempt position with benefits. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, which may include weekend and nighttime work outside of normal work hours.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

We manage technology investments and assets such as the city's enterprise computer network, systems, and applications, and we are committed to continually advancing our technological capabilities. Our responsibilities also include providing technology services and support, consulting, business process analysis, and project management.
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative technology professional with a strong background in application development and the ability to bridge technical and business needs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise web applications while partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.
This individual excels at managing vendor relationships, coordinating software implementations, and ensuring projects meet timelines, security requirements, and service expectations. They are skilled in business analysis, documenting requirements, evaluating business processes, and recommending solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer service. A proactive, customer-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
The successful candidate has experience with quality assurance practices, including test planning, defect management, and user acceptance testing to ensure reliable software releases. They are comfortable leading projects, mentoring team members, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
We value strong communication, analytical thinking, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience with modern web technologies, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications is highly desirable.
Minimum qualifications- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; and
- 4 years of recent experience in systems application analysis, highly complex technical documentation programming, including acting as a lead system implementer on a project team delivering an enterprise solution; experience in web development (C#, ASP.Net, Angular, Node Js preferred), BASH/Linux, XML, JSON, Database development (Progress, SQL, PL/SQL desired); or
- any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, software implementations, and support contracts while ensuring project milestones and service expectations are met.
- Knowledge of Ansible or similar automation and configuration management tools for application deployment and infrastructure automation.
