10 is currently seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer
- Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX, Chandler, AZ, Jersey City, NJ, Charlotte, NC, or Richmond, VA. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role is for a senior engineer to drive the AI-enabled modernization of mainframe z/VM and Linux vulnerability patching. The position focuses on developing agent-based automation to accelerate remediation and reduce security risk. The candidate will be required to be onsite at least 3 days per week.

• Lead the design and development of AI-driven automation frameworks for z/VM and Linux patching
• Build and deploy agent-based workflows to orchestrate vulnerability remediation at scale
• Integrate AI agents with mainframe systems, APIs, and security tooling
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to prioritize and execute patching initiatives
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operational readiness of automation solutions

• 10 years of experience in mainframe infrastructure engineering, including z/VM and Linux installation and testing
• Hands-on experience developing AI/agent-based automation frameworks and agents
• Strong Python programming skills in enterprise environments
• Experience operating in large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments

• Experience with agent-based or autonomous system architectures
• Exposure to AIOps or AI applied to mainframe infrastructure operations
• Experience developing and integrating programs with z/VM and Linux APIs
• Experience with mainframe tooling supporting end-to-end vulnerability patching

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
