Release Train Engineer (RTE)

This position is responsible for the end-to-end governance of the Internal Cloud Platform release lifecycle. This includes planning, coordination, execution, and production promotion of infrastructure and platform changes. The role involves managing release dependencies across engineering, operations, security, and product teams to ensure changes are introduced safely and predictably with minimal risk to platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and govern the release lifecycle for the Internal Cloud Platform.
• Own release standards, cadence, and readiness criteria to support consistent delivery.
• Manage release calendars, enforce readiness criteria, and coordinate change windows.
• Integrate CI/CD pipeline outputs and automation workflows into controlled production releases.
• Ensure changes are introduced with minimal risk to platform stability.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience managing release life cycles for enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, or shared services.
• Demonstrated expertise in release management, change management, and dependency coordination in complex, multi-team environments.
• Proven experience operating within regulated environments where platform stability, auditability, and change controls are mandatory.

Technical

Skills:

• Hands-on experience using Jira, Agile / SAFe tooling, and release tracking mechanisms to manage large delivery backlogs.
• Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Understanding of how automated changes are safely promoted into production.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), ITIL Change Management, or equivalent certification.
• 5-7+ years supporting infrastructure or cloud platform releases at an enterprise scale.
• Experience releasing VMware-based platforms, internal clouds, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to define release standards, readiness criteria, and governance frameworks for shared platforms.
• Experience in financial services or a similarly regulated industry.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite per week. Only local candidates will be considered.
