Junior Commodity Buyer – Manufacturing

This position will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing off-the-shelf components, as well as specialized components and assemblies, to support manufacturing. The perfect candidate has a desire to work with vendors to build relationships that allow the company to meet schedule and create a mutually beneficial relationship. The role will use established vendors and be asked to source new vendors.

Aero Spec does not utilize an inventory-based procurement system; instead ordering parts just-in-time for each project. Experience with this type of procurement process is a strong plus for all applicants.

• 2-4 years’ experience procuring components for a manufacturing or similar operation.
• Purchasing experience in a structured ERP environment.
• Ability to identify, source and negotiate with new and existing vendors on price, delivery, quality and shelf status.
• Maintenance of Customer Records in CRM System.

• Develop and maintain contact information for vendors.
• Execute the procurement of parts and routing between vendors and Aero Spec.
• Schedule driven procurement based around kit release dates and sometimes aggressive schedules.
• Track supplier delivery status using existing reporting tools.
• Work with scheduling and project teams to process expedites as necessary to support production.
• Assist other Aero Spec buyers during peak workloads with a variety of tasks.
• Engage in cross-training opportunities across the supply chain.

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and ERP/MRP systems.
• Industry experience a plus but not required.
