Akkodis is hiring for Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Driver to support our client in the Technology Space!

Location:

Training will be held in Santa Clara, CA, but travel in states across the US will be required after training.

Contract:

1 year contract (high potential for extension)

Pay: $28.86

Position Summary

We are seeking an Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Driver & Test Operator to support autonomous vehicle testing and daily operations. This dual-role position combines safe operation of autonomous test vehicles with hands-on testing, data collection, software validation, and collaboration with engineering teams. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically proficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling and travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Autonomous Vehicle Driver

  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and perform vehicle system calibrations.
  • Safely operate autonomous test vehicles on public roads, closed-course tracks, and designated test routes.
  • Execute test scenarios, including parking maneuvers and autonomous driving evaluations.
  • Monitor vehicle systems and troubleshoot hardware and software issues during testing.
  • Document test results, issues, and observations, providing clear feedback to engineering and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and test operators to execute testing plans.
  • Ensure proper data collection, integrity, and transfer following each test mission.
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and local traffic laws.
  • Travel to various testing locations as needed.

Test Operator

  • Execute daily testing tasks according to established procedures.
  • Install and validate software on test vehicles.
  • Perform assigned test cases with and without autonomous driving features enabled.
  • Collect logs, diagnostic data, and issue reports from test vehicles.
  • Upload testing data and document findings for engineering review.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support autonomous vehicle development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid U.S. driver's license with at least 3 years of licensed driving experience and an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to pass company driving assessments and behind-the-wheel evaluations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Experience using Linux, QNX, or Unix command-line environments.
  • Basic shell scripting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and system interfaces.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, and travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting autonomous vehicle testing or advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
  • Knowledge of autonomous driving technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, active safety systems, and automated parking.
  • Experience operating vehicles on test tracks.
  • Previous experience in autonomous vehicle testing or as a Test Operator.
  • Military, law enforcement, or other operational field experience is a plus.
  • Full-time position with a minimum 40-hour work week; overtime may be required.
  • Flexible schedule with day or night shifts based on operational needs.
  • Frequent travel to testing locations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic testing environment.
