Purpose

The Assembler Support II is responsible for performing mechanical assembly of satellite modem chassis, including installation of PCBAs, hardware, cabling, and related components. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to quality and safety standards. The Assembler Support II supports daily production activities, communicates build issues or material concerns to planning, quality, or engineering, and helps ensure assemblies meet reliability, performance, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks including hardware installation, component alignment, and verification of basic mechanical fit and function.
  • Perform mechanical and functional tests such as torque checks, basic pressure tests, or other verification steps as required .
  • Interpret and follow mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, ECOs, BOMs, and quality documentation.
  • Identify and communicate mechanical assembly issues or potential defects to quality or engineering for evaluation.
  • Verify material accuracy, identify shortages, and notify planning or leadership to prevent delays in production.
  • Work closely with quality and engineering teams by providing feedback on build concerns and supporting troubleshooting activities.
  • Support cross ‑ training efforts across multiple product lines to increase flexibility and production coverage.
  • Assist with daily workflow by completing assigned tasks efficiently and maintaining readiness for upcoming builds.
  • Perform in ‑ process inspections to verify hardware installation, assembly quality, torque accuracy, and proper handling of sensitive components.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in ERP systems, including build steps, defect entries, part usage, and process notes.
  • Keep work area organized, safe, and compliant with 5S, ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Partner with production and repair teams to support resolution of assembly ‑ related defects.
  • Provide constructive feedback regarding work instructions or assembly processes that may improve efficiency or clarity.
  • Assist with new product introductions, pilot builds, and engineering trials under guidance from senior assemblers or engineering.
