Job Summary
As our surgical services nurse at Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC) you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing care when they are at their most vulnerable. Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, ensure equipment is ready, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation.
You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery. To be successful in this role you must maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
- Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
- Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
- Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
- Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
Minimum:
- One (1) year surgery experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, critical care (surgical) background, pediatric experience helpful
Education:
ADN, Diploma, BSN or Foreign Equivalent
Licensure:
- Current AZ State RN License in good standing
- Current American Heart Association BLS card
- Current American Heart Association ACLS card (must obtain within 6 months)

The hospital recently added a new five‑story tower with 96 patient beds, increasing the acute‑care bed count to 338.
This expansion increased emergency and trauma services, as well as the surgical unit and intensive care offerings.
