Overview
The Director of Outpatient Nursing and Wound Care provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the ambulatory wound care clinic, outpatient nursing services, and infusion center. This role ensures safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
Responsibilities- Oversee nursing and support staff, department operations, staffing, budgeting, quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and patient safety programs.
- Coordinate outpatient infusion therapies, wound care treatments, and specialty nursing services.
- Promote efficient workflows, interdisciplinary collaboration, and excellent customer service.
- Support staff education, competency validation, regulatory readiness, and program development.
- Collaborate with providers and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes, continuity of care, and community access to ambulatory healthcare services.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nurse experience in the acute care setting, nursing leadership or management experience.
- Maintains current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved program.
- Maintains current ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved program within one month of hire.
- Wound Care Certificate required. New hires have a 3-month allowance to acquire certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare documentation systems.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 50 pounds.
- English language proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN);
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. - Clinical experience in ambulatory care, infusion services, wound care, or related specialty area.
- Previous Meditech experience or other electronic records systems.
- Experience with staffing, budgeting, quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and performance management.
