The Women and Infant Services department at Banner Ocotillo Medical Center is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care in a 24/7 labor and delivery setting. Candidates must have prior RN labor and delivery experience and be comfortable circulating and recovering from C‑Sections, transitioning well newborns, and working in antepartum and postpartum units. The position offers an 18% night shift differential and a flat $3/hour weekend shift differential.
Responsibilities- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, cultural and discharge‑planning needs; complete assessments and reassessments as required.
- Formulate and revise individualized plans of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input.
- Implement care through direct patient interactions, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health‑care team.
- Delegate nursing duties appropriately and provide supervision of licensed nurses and ancillary staff.
- Communicate patient status accurately and completely to other caregivers to promote continuity of care.
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise care plans accordingly.
- Document all aspects of care—assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation—in the patient record.
- Provide evidence‑based care, participate in research activities, and contribute to unit or facility leadership.
- Engage in mentoring, precepting and professional development when appropriate.
- Current valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact license).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least one year of recent acute‑care RN experience in a labor and delivery or physician practice setting.
- Strong clinical performance competencies and annual validation of nursing skills.
- Ability to operate a personal vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license and maintain active auto‑insurance for home‑health roles (if applicable).
- For behavioral health roles: valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit (where required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Nurse‑Midwife, Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
- Additional related education, training and experience in women’s services or neonatal care.
