ResponsibilitiesMed Surg RNs provide bedside care for a diverse patient population, conducting individualized assessments and developing personalized care plans. They prepare medical equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
Key Duties Include- Preparing, administering, and documenting prescribed medications
- Monitoring patients for adverse symptoms and initiating alternative actions if needed
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs when necessary
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to respond promptly to patient needs and adverse symptoms
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and IV insertion
