Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Quality Engineering – Manager Level 2 to join our team in Chandler, AZ
. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This role will manage our Manufacturing Avionics and/or Cables team with a total of 22-28 direct reports. Manager will be responsible to ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including reviews of Mission Assurance Contract Summaries and ensure that all Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis. These metrics will include items such as Avionics Hardware Acceptance Review statuses, Product Escapes, First Articles statuses, drawing reviews/approvals, non-conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and performance review management.

This function will also hold the key role to represent the Launch Systems division in supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement quality initiatives.

The manager selected will interface with the Product Assurance and Supplier Quality teams to ensure that company values and company's overall metrics are met.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Your Role and Impact
  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of Quality requirements and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Experience managing people preferred.
  • Prior experience with Manufacturing Avionics and/or Cables.
