Lab Technician

An opportunity is available for a Lab Technician with a material science company. This role involves performing quality assurance on raw materials and finished products, blending experimental mixtures, and conducting various lab tests. The position requires a quality-minded, hardworking individual with strong communication skills who can contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

A drug screen (including testing for cannabis) and criminal background check must be completed prior to starting in this position.

• Perform Quality Assurance testing and evaluations on raw materials and finished products.
• Prepare and issue reports to company personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of Quality Assurance and experimental results.
• Develop a moderate familiarity with raw material and finished product specifications.
• Perform testing functions such as tensile, penetration, bending, and flexibility.
• Assist with the training of other lab personnel.
• Conduct experimental mixing and testing of building products.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Safely lift 50 pounds a few times per day.
• Work overtime and various shifts when required.

Experience in a lab setting is preferred, with a background in materials science considered beneficial. Recent graduates are also considered. Candidates must be quality-minded, organized, and possess the ability to take feedback constructively. Professionalism, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential. The role involves physical testing such as viscosity, Instron, melt temperature, and flow rates.

The pay rate for this position is between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
