As an AOI Inspector, you will play a crucial role in operating and overseeing AOI (Yes Tech Automated Optical Inspection), X‑Ray (Yes Tech X‑Ray) machines and performing visual inspection using a microscope to ensure accurate detection of defects or abnormalities in printed circuit boards, electronic components, and assemblies.
Responsibilities- Regular and predictable attendance required.
- Operate Yes Tech Automated Optical Inspection.
- Operate Yes Tech X‑Ray and perform visual inspection using microscope.
- Examine documents such as Assembly Instruction (AI) and change order (CO) and verify their completeness and accuracy.
- Inspect first pieces by running the populated PCB through AOI and X‑Ray machines and visual inspection; review and complete first piece documentation.
- Notify appropriate personnel when discrepancies are found.
- Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and compliance standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Minimum one year of experience operating AOI and X‑Ray machines.
- Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001.
- Familiarity with electronic component identification.
- Experience using a personal computer and working knowledge of Microsoft software including Windows & Office.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed to meet customer needs and on‑time delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across different departments and levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in electronics manufacturing.
- Effective teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector or equivalent.
This position requires compliance with Comtech’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program. Candidates must successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screening as a condition of hire. CompensationThe pay range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Final compensation will be based on role, level, skills, experience, and geographic location.
