General Merchandise Team Leader – Overview

Pay range: $22.00–$37.40 per hour, depending on experience and market.

• Build and maintain a guest‑first culture with consistent guest experience commitments.
• Develop, coach, evaluate, and retain hourly team members, including interviewing and hiring.
• Plan daily/weekly workload to support sales goals and guest engagement, coordinating inventory, pricing, signage, and floor displays.
• Ensure accurate merchandising, product availability, and compliance with pricing and safety policies.
• Analyze and act on performance metrics, identifying gaps and leading process improvements.
• Support fulfillment (pick, pack, ship) and back‑up cashier duties where applicable.
• Collaborate with store teams to keep the store guest‑ready, handling closing, emergency, and compliance needs.
• Maintain a safe and secure workplace, including hazard identification, incident reporting, and physical security procedures.
• Lead legal and compliance requirements (e.g., alcohol laws, ADA accommodations).
• Assume Leadership on Duty (LOD) responsibilities when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years of age.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coach others.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, prioritizing tasks.
• Proficiency with handheld scanners, technology, and communication devices.
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 44 lbs., climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures and conditions.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to handle cash and register operations.
