Account Manager

The Account Manager manages assigned clients, working with sales and support teams to implement new or renewing accounts. Ensures high service levels and maintains ongoing client relationships with key employees. Requires strong knowledge of group benefits, problem resolution, and negotiation skills. Must be personable, professional, and able to travel for client meetings.

Essential duties and responsibilities include coordinating and conducting implementation for new and renewing clients, coordinating strategy meetings and document collection with Business Consultant and Benefit Sales Consultant, marketing, analyzing, and negotiating benefits and rates for all coverages, requesting renewals from carriers and conducting pre-renewal and renewal meetings, negotiating renewals with carriers, delivering final renewal to clients, obtaining applications and monitoring benefit administration portals, ensuring timely submissions, performing first bill audits and hosting client meetings to review open enrollment outcomes, building relationships with key contacts to ensure customer retention and satisfaction, delivering high levels of service to all clients including 24-hour response times on requests, educating employees and key contacts on benefits, and ensuring client compliance with benefits, contributions, and filings including COBRA, ACA, and Medicare.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include integrity and credibility, ability to work both independently and in a team, discretion in presentations, correspondence, and communication, intermediate or higher skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe, strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize, knowledge of employee benefits, compliance, and payroll, ability to read and interpret client documents, insurance, and governmental regulations, ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints, and problem-solving skills including data collection and drawing valid conclusions.

Education & experience:

2-5 years or equivalent combination of experience, skills, or education preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Health and Life Insurance License mandatory.

$75,000 - $78,500 a year
