The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Police Records Representative
. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The Police Records Division is open internally Sunday – Saturday and open to the public Monday – Friday (except holidays). The Police Records Representative are required to work various schedules which include days, swings, some weekends and holidays. The position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. Once off of probation, schedules are determined twice per year, each for six (6) months in duration.

The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 348 sworn officers and 192 civilians, serves a growing population of approximately 290,000 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. The Patrol Operations Division three precincts,
1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler,
2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and
3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Operational Support Bureau, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community. The members of the Chandler Police Department are dedicated to the advancement of community policing and the development of a partnership with our citizens. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and who must be able to do the following:
- Greet customers entering the lobby and respond to inquiries
- Use Law Enforcement programs and systems to enter data and update info
- Fulfill public record requests
- Train to be able to perform the full scope of duties of a Police Records Representative
- Conduct and attend Vehicle Impound Hearings
- Must possess a High School or GED equivalency.
- Must have 1-year of previous experience working in a fast-paced environment where customer service, data entry, and administrative work were required; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Must successfully obtain and pass the Department of Public Safety Level A Terminal Operator Certification upon being hired.
- Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish are preferred.
Work is performed under the supervision of a division supervisor or manager. This position does not supervise others.
Benefits and scheduleThis is a full-time, non-exempt position with a 4 x 10 days or swings schedule, 7 days a week, including weekend day or holidays. The position is open to all qualified applicants. The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
