Under general supervision, the Maintenance 2 Technician performs semi-skilled work in the daily and preventive care, repair, and maintenance of building systems and equipment; can perform plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, masonry, painting, mechanical, and carpentry work.
Full-time
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9:30am-6pm
Pay range: $19-$26/hour depending on experience
A day in the life may include:
Emphasis on general maintenance, appliance repair, painting and texture experience and general knowledge of HVAC systems
- Performing assigned maintenance duties and routine preventive maintenance specifically around appliance repair, painting, and general knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Installing, finishing, repairing, painting, removing and disposing of drywall or other material;
- Repairing and maintaining equipment in resident units and in community;
- General plumbing tasks such as changing out faucets, mixing valves, plunging a toilet, replacing a wax ring, rebuilding a toilet, clearing drains;
- General electrical tasks such as lock out/tag out, bulb replacement, ballast replacement, fixture change out, fuse replacement, light switch/outlet replacement.;
- Communicating effectively with team members, residents, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and city, state and federal officials as required, either in person, by phone, in writing, or via radio.
To be successful in this role, you would have:
- One to two years of experience in a related field of building maintenance or construction.
- Certification, license or equivalent as required under state and/or local regulation to operate or repair certain equipment in a technical field such as HVAC, building trades or building utilities program,
