Equipment Preventative Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Day Shift (5) Works every Sun, Mon, Tue, e/o Wed or (7) e/o Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat. Time: 05:45 AM to 06:15 PM.

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr

Location: Chandler, AZ

Position Type: FT

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operates, maintains, and performs minor upgrade projects on mechanical systems. This includes doing the monthly/quarterly/semi‑annual/annual PMs and fixing any operational and maintenance issues that occur on the mechanical system.
  • Responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of facility plumbing, mechanical, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance duties. Assignments are semi‑routine in nature, performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment is required in resolving non‑standard problems.
  • Receives general instructions and reviews job plans for all work.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as exhaust, chillers, boilers, air handlers, compressors, etc., operation.
  • Experience performing general industrial mechanical work, including instrument calibrations.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, organization and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to adhere to a stringent environmental compliance culture and to work a compressed work‑week schedule.
  • Work in clean‑room environments; must be able to wear PPE and air‑supplied respirator, coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Operate a PIT forklift, pallet jack, and spend a considerable part of the day working in a mobile environment.
  • Must have HVAC certification.
Preferences:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in facilities, preventative, and corrective maintenance.
Physical Effort/

Activities:

May be required to walk up to 5+ miles per day, be on feet for 8‑10 hours at a time, and be able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
