Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and reliable Painter Apprentice to join our team of skilled professionals through the local painters union. This is an entry‑level position offering hands‑on training in industrial and commercial painting, with a focus on safety, craftsmanship, and union values. Apprentices will work under the supervision of experienced journey persons while completing a structured training program.
Key Responsibilities- Assist journeyperson painters in preparing and finishing surfaces including drywall, metal, concrete, and wood.
- Apply protective coatings, primers, and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and containment systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA and union safety standards.
- Attend required classroom instruction through the local painters union.
- Learn to read blueprints, follow specifications, and use trade tools and materials properly.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic math and communication.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it.
