Industrial Maintenance Electrician IV – Amentum
Amentum is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician IV to support our operations and maintenance team. The role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of electrical and control systems across HVAC, CNC production equipment, conveyors, motors, lighting, VFDs, PLCs, cranes, and hoists.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to and resolve work orders for electrical equipment and control circuits up to 480V AC.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs, ladder logic, HMI, VFDs, and instrumentation devices.
- Calibrate instrumentation and control equipment for optimal performance.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Procuring parts from in‑house, OEM, or authorized vendors and documenting cost‑saving opportunities.
- Ensure work meets NEC guidelines and industry standards.
- Provide instruction, mentorship, and training to junior technicians.
- Serve as a key point of contact with site management and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Conduct independent equipment evaluations and identify safety‑related issues.
- Utilize the building automation system to monitor facility equipment conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience performing electrical maintenance in an industrial setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journeyman electrical license required.
- Proficiency with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Wago, GE, Micro Logix, Control Logix, PLC‑5 PLCs and ladder‑logic programming.
- Experience with thermocouples, transducers, primary voltages up to 480V, and control instrumentation.
- Strong mechanical skills for manual work and equipment handling.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, NEC, and technical documents.
Requires ability to climb and use extension, roof, and stepladders; walk, stand, and move extensively; bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with light to medium weight materials. Must differentiate colors for wire coding and possess map/read and computer skills. Will occasionally travel to client or vendor sites and may drive. Must wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, and other PPE as needed.
CompensationHourly rate range: $28.00 – $41.00, based on education, experience and market data.
