Summary
The Mechanical Technician I is responsible for performing equipment assembly, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities within a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety and quality procedures to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment and production systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs following established procedures.
- Inspect equipment components to identify wear, damage, or operational abnormalities.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Follow all workplace safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in accordance with company guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions when required.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with calibration and testing activities as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance and reliability programs.
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- High School Diploma or GED with technical maintenance experience.
- Technical or vocational certifications in Mechanical Maintenance are preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or manufacturing operations.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in an industrial environment.
