Installation Technician
The Installation Technician provides on-site product support and technical expertise to customers at a large semiconductor facility. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving equipment faults, performing preventative maintenance, and installing and commissioning specialized products. The technician completes all tasks with precision while consistently upholding safe working practices in a clean, temperature-controlled environment.
Responsibilities- Install, commission, and service equipment throughout the customer's semiconductor facility.
- Provide electromechanical support and technical know-how for complex equipment and systems.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on vacuum pumps, abatement systems, and gas and chemical delivery systems.
- Diagnose and remedy equipment faults using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Carry out preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
- Use a variety of test equipment, including micrometers, test meters, hand tools, and power tools, to evaluate and repair equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, and detailed mechanical schematics accurately.
- Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Follow established safety procedures and use approved fall protection and other safety equipment as required.
- Work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods when necessary to complete installations or repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members, providing updates on work status and equipment issues.
- Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a clean driving record while traveling between work locations.
- Use basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, to document work, complete reports, and communicate via email.
- Proven experience performing installation and maintenance in an industrial environment.
- Strong electromechanical skills with the ability to service complex equipment and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed mechanical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Competence in using test equipment, including micrometers, various test meters, hand tools, and power tools.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for vacuum pumps, abatement systems, and gas and chemical delivery systems.
- Basic computer proficiency, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work safely in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods when required.
- Capability and willingness to complete training to work at height using approved fall protection equipment.
- Successful completion of a Physical Capability assessment.
- Clean driving record suitable for operating company vehicles.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to speak distinctly and see and hear clearly.
