Job Description

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial irrigation systems. This position ensures landscaping and grounds receive proper irrigation while promoting water conservation and system efficiency.

Location:

Surprise/Tonopah, AZ (Travel between sites)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-1:30 PM

Pay Range: $20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities
  • Inspect irrigation systems and identify operational issues.
  • Repair sprinkler heads, valves, drip systems, controllers, and piping.
  • Program and adjust irrigation controllers and timers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on irrigation equipment.
  • Monitor water usage and recommend conservation improvements.
  • Respond to emergency irrigation repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards.
  • Work closely with grounds maintenance teams to support landscape appearance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-3 years of commercial irrigation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, sprinkler systems, and drip irrigation.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair irrigation system failures.
  • Experience reading irrigation plans and blueprints preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor including bending, kneeling, and digging.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance.
  • Understanding of water management and conservation practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
