A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA)

Chandler, AZ
Schedule- Full-time
- 10-hour shifts
- Day and night shifts based on operational needs
We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA) to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a fleet of flight training aircraft. This role is responsible for ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and manufacturer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of safety and airworthiness.
Must-Have Requirements- Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License with Inspection Authorization (IA) required at the time of hire.
- Minimum of three (3) recent and consecutive years of General Aviation (GA) experience as a certificated A&P Mechanic.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91, and applicable technical data.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and parts catalogs.
- Make accurate aircraft maintenance logbook entries and approve aircraft for return to service.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work independently while effectively managing priorities and workflow.
- Collaborate with team members to support maintenance operations and aircraft availability.
- Be flexible to work day, night, or other shifts as operational needs require.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License with Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Minimum 3 years of recent, consecutive General Aviation (GA) maintenance experience as a certificated A&P.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.
- Ability to troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft in accordance with FAA and manufacturer standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience maintaining Piper aircraft.
- Experience with Garmin G1000 avionics.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance software (such as Talon RMS).
- Operate company vehicles and aircraft as needed.
- Use aircraft maintenance tools, shop equipment, and standard office equipment.
- Work around aviation fuels, solvents, and other maintenance-related materials.
